Odds and Ends-New Jack Swing

Good evening folks. I hope everyone is doing well on this Wednesday evening. It's been a long two days and I've got a lot to talk about so let's get to it.

I just want to thank everyone who sent me an e-mail asking about the new job and how it is going, which is where I will start. Well the first week was a definitely an adjustment. The store I am working at is much different than the other store, this store which will call TC is more by the book whereas the other store is a little more loose. My comfortability factor was pretty low the first two days. I almost started looking for another job because of how uncomfortable I felt. I don't know what my problem was I just felt out of place. Plus the GSM there is a little weird, it's like a friend of mine said when I told him I was taking the job over at TC and my friend knew the GSM, his comment was "whenever he looks at me I feel like he's trying to find a way to kill me." That may be a little extreme but there is something odd about the GSM. Anyway the first two days were bad but on Wednesday it changed and started to get a lot better. I started to get my bearings and became a lot more comfortable. Once I started selling and running the GW shop as well as being treated like a manager definitely helped my comfort level. The only issue I have and I knew this was going to be an issue when I started was how serious the PA's and the guys under me in GW were going to take me. Some of them have adapted just fine and some haven't especially one of the guys in GW. I think I am going to have an issue with him challenging me. I'm pretty sure I am going to have to put him in his place to get him to understand I am the manager or I'll just fire him. LOL. Then there are a couple of old guys who work there part time who think they know it all and have no desire to want to listen to me, so I am going to have to go a different direction with them. The hours and schedule is a little rough especially next week since it is inventory week and I am working a six day work week. Next Saturday is going to be a long day. Other than that the new job is going well, thanks again for all who e-mailed asking about it, I appreciate it.

As for my old job I still haven't gotten my final commission checks and I have a feeling it's going to be another week. That was one thing about that company that really ticked me off, they always had there heads up their butts when came to employee's benefits and money.

Is there anything better than hot chili on a cold rainy day? Hell to the no!

So let's talk a little TV...well start with Smallville. So the last two episodes have definitely set the tone for this season. Episode two was called Plastique and it featured the DC character by the same name which I am not too familiar with so let's check Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastique_(comics)

So she's definitely a supervillian and from the article she is not a villain of Supes. So why introduce her? Anyway it was a pretty good episode which had Clark saving his new boss Tess from the blown up bus. Chole meeting Doomsday who is Davis Bloom and sparks fly between the two. We also had Clark trying to save Plastique and eventually showing Plastique his powers which was never explained if she knew or not, it was pretty obvious that she knew though. Then there was the biggest surprise of the episode at the end and it sounds like Tess is creating her own Injustice League which makes me think Lex left specific instructions for Tess to do this in case he were to go missing. Finally there was the exchange between Clark and Chloe about her engagement to Jimmy. Clark found out from Davis and went to Chloe to see if she would tell him which she finally did. It was a heartfelt moment as Clark told Chloe he would always be there for her and they had a nice hug it out moment. Episode three was the Green Arrow origin story and probably was the best episode so far this season. The writers did a great job sticking to GA's origin while interwining Tess into it which did not bother me at all. I loved how Chloe was adamandant that Clark not take Ollie to the hospital and to trust Ollie. It was a great scene. We learned a lot about Tess this episode and by the end of the show we definitely know how bad she can be, Lex picked an excellent replacement. We finally got confirmation that some of BRANIAC is in Chloe. Clark became very concerned and ultimately he's going to have to intervene and do something to help Chloe. Clark was definitely bitch slapped throughout this episode. Chloe and Ollie both told him he needed to step up and to trust his friends. It was a good lesson for Clark and it should have opened his eyes. All in all a great episode and this week's episode looks to be a filler episode so hopefully it will be entertaining.

Not much was happening with The Office since the debates were on, Earl was pretty good, for all her hotness I will never be able to look at Jaime Pressly without seeing the redneck/white trash Joy, well here's a pic anyway:

I am not even going to get into a discussion about Heroes, it would take me at least three hours to discuss just one episode. All I can say is finding out Sylar, Peter, and Nathan are brothers was crazy. I don't know how I feel about Peter taking over Sylar's powers, I just hope he doesn't become the villain in this story. All in all every episode has been strong and I have a feeling it's going to get better. BTW the best moment of the entire series was Hiro and Ando digging up Adam and the line Adam utters as he is choking Hiro, priceless.

Pushing Daisies came back last week and it was a decent season opener, I really enjoyed the montage of Chuck and Ned doing a nice little dance through their apartment so that they do not touch each other. It was pretty cool. This week's episode looks good also, it looks like Ned's Dad is going to be making a visit.

HIMYM and BBT have been great. BBT's episode on Monday was one of the best they've done since they've been on TV. The whole Penny/Sheldon dynamic was great. I loved how Penny called Sheldon on his cell during his tirade against his arch-nemesis in the dean's office and then she calls the dean's office and asks to speak to Sheldon who talks to her and tells her not to go on the quest. It all centered around Penny becoming addicted to a WOW type game. It was amazing to see Penny's transformation from hottie to nottie throughout the episode. She did a great job. Sheldon was his awesome self, he's definitely becoming the focus of the show. HIMYM was pretty good, it had some nice moments, Barney's refusal to lower his arm unless he got a knuckle tap was great. The whole Ted not moving to NJ was pretty funny, especially when they all got into the pros of each state and Marshall agreeing NJ was better than NY. Monday night is a great night for TV.

The Simpsons and Family Guy were their normal great episodes. The whole bird is the word Family Guy was great and it kept that song in my head for a few days. Wella wella everybody's heard about the bird, here let it sink in:

Let's see what else, I got a lot done on my two days off. So that's a good thing. It's going to be a rough rest of the week and next week. But oh well.

Well I think that's about it. I will hopefully have something up later next week. Otherwise take care and have a good week.

Staying Alive, ah ah ah Staying Allliiiveee!!

Well folks I am back, it's been awhile hasn't it? So here's the skinny, with this new job my schedule is all messed up and with my baby boy not sleeping through the night it's been really difficult to get any blogging done. However I do have Tuesday and Wednesday off and I will definitely up date the blog this week. I have a lot to talk about, the new job, Smallville, NBC Thursday night's, Pushing Daisies, and a lot more. So stay tuned because the next two days I am back baby. I'm also going to try to figure out a good schedule to blog, it may have to be on my day's off, either way I will make sure you get your daily fix.

Odds and Ends-Short Circuit 2-Johnny 5 Strikes Back

What's going on folks? I'm sorry for the lack of posts these last few days, it's been pretty busy with getting ready for the new job and taking care of the kids. But I am here and I have a few things to talk about and some more great pictures.

So let's start with the weekend. It was a great weekend. We had some great family time at the zoo and then had a nice evening in with brats on the grill. I had to work Sunday and it was a long day of cleaning the store for the big wigs that were visiting on Tuesday. All in all a good weekend.

I did play golf with my Dad on Monday and it was not a pretty sight. In fact I think that was the worst I've ever played since I started playing golf. I mean I am not a bad golfer but it sure looked like I was a beginner on Monday. Plus my Dad didn't play great either, so we wound up only playing 13 holes and then packed in. We both were just too frustrated. It was nice though to spend some one on one time with my Pops though.

Monday night was a great night for TV though, it was the premieres of BBT, HIMYM, and HEROES!!! BBT was fantastic. It just proved my earlier comment in the CBS preview post that Sheldon is one of the best characters on TV right now. I could not stop laughing over how he could not live with Penny's secret and it finally took vicadin and warm milk for him to spill the secret. It was a great episode and Kaley looked especially hot. HIMYM was pretty good also. NPH delivered another stellar performance as Barney, I loved his bimbo speech and how he couldn't stop banging bimbo's while being in love with Robin, priceless. The Ted storyline was ok, I liked the Star Wars test and how his fiance didn't like Star Wars but was willing to pretend because she loved Ted. Marshall not being able to find a job and asking everyone "What are you doing?" was pretty funny. I think both episodes were excellent and it was a nice start to the season.

Then there was Heroes and OMG did they knock it out of the park. I wanted to do a full recap on the episodes but I would not be able to do it justice. Trust me and go to nbc.com and find those episodes and watch them you will not regret it. Heroes is officially back to it's season one form and they kicked some major butt on Monday. The whole Future Peter/Present Peter was confusing but it was awesome to see it played out. It was nice to find out what Angela's power was and it definitely answered why Peter was having visions in the first episode of the show. The whole Sylar and Claire part was freaky and interesting. I loved the part where Claire asks Sylar if he was going to eat her brains and his response of that being disgusting was great. We officially know now how Sylar gets his powers and with Claire's power he is now invincible. I also was intrigued on what Sylar told Claire about her being special and how she doesn't even know the extent of her powers. Great stuff and Hayden looked very hot. The Hiro/Ando scenes were interesting and I loved Hiro disobeying his father and his father leaving him another DVD telling him he knew he would do that. I was to keen on how Hiro was treating Ando after seeing the future Ando supposedly kill Hiro with Ando's newly acquired powers. It just felt odd that the wold treat him that way knowing the future can be changed. The whole Batman/Robin dialogue was great also. I really don't have much to say about the Parkman, Nathan, Tracy storylines, they were good but nothing major. It was good to see HRG get back in action and protect his family. BUT THE BIGGEST SURPRISE WAS THE ENDING WHICH MADE ME ALMOST CRAP MY PANTS!!!!! Angela Petrelli is Sylar's MOTHER!!!!!!!!!! HOLYEE CRAP! So did not see that one coming. I had to watch that scene a few times to make sure I heard her right and she did confirm that she is his mother. That scene was one of the greatest surprises ever in TV history. If those two episodes are any indication of what this season is going to be like then it's going to be a legendary season of Heroes.

Well I think that's about it for the night. I should have another post up later this week probably Friday night. Don't forget Thursday night is the NBC premieres and it looks like it's going to be pretty good.

Finally here are a few pics of Keely, Hayden, Lucy, and just a few hotties:

Odds and Ends-Smallville thoughts

Ok so this is a little late, I figured I wasn't going to be able to post as often when I took this new job. Speaking of the new job, I haven't started yet, it will be Monday. As of right now I am working at the current store to get at least a 40 hour paycheck. So it should all work out.

So let's get to Smallville, well it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Here's a little recap and then I will give my thoughts.

-The Justice League consisting of Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Black Canary attack a compound in the Artic where they find Luthor's goons looking for Lex. The JL take out the bad guys and find Clark's frozen jacket. We are also introduced to Tess Mercer the new CEO of Luthor Corp.

-New opening credits-pretty sweet

-We then see Lois as a HOT French maid breaking into Lex's mansion and retrieving a zip drive. She is the busted by Tess and after a brief catty convo Lois lets her know she is looking for Chloe and she will find her.

-We then see Chloe and she is in some secret facility the is run by a govt agency. It is revealed that Chloe has become more intelligent that the fastest supercomputer.

-We then get the JL and how they cannot find Clark. GA does not want to give up, so they keep looking for Clark.

-We finally see where Clark is and he's in Russia, he's a prisoner, and he has no powers. Bad Russian Guy won't let Clark call for help so Clark tries to escape only to be shot and crashes his getaway vehicle. He's then beaten up and left to die.

-Next up is Tess and her threats to the guy who went with Lex to find the fortress. She threatens him and he blows her off.

-Back to Chloe and they have another test for her, she needs to break a code for three sets of cell phone numbers that the govt agency says are terrorists. Chloe begins to break the codes and we see that these numbers are for Aquaman and Black Canary who are captured. Chloe starts on the last set and realizes it's GA's cell and she FINALLY puts it all together that this is not a govt agency, she is being held by Lex's goons. She tries to escape only to be caught.

-We get back to Clark who survived the gun shot and tries to escape again only to get his butt kicked by the BRG. Out of nowhere Ollie/GA shows up and basically buys Clark his freedom after the two have a staged fight. Clark and Ollie take a nice jet flight and Clark reveals Jor-El took his powers as a fail safe if the Fortress was destroyed. Ollie then fills him in on what is going on with the JL and Chloe. They decide to bust Chloe out.

-Black Canary and Aquaman are being held captive where Chloe is and they are powerless. Chloe will not give out the last number. GA and Clark arrive and split up to find everyone. Clark runs into Lois, who is disguised as one of the guards, they both promptly get rid of the guards and work together to find Chloe.

-Chloe still refuses to give up the number so she is drugged with a drug that was made from her Mother's spinal fluid that makes people do what they are told. She is drugged up and gives up GA's cell number. The guy who went with Luthor to the Artic is the bad guy behind all of this so he captures GA and injects him with the drug. He tells GA to find out what happened to Lex.

-Clark and Lois find Chloe. Lois gets tasered by the geek who was working on Chloe, Clark kicks his butt. Chloe tells Clark that the JL is in trouble and Clark goes to help.

-Clark finds GA. GA is under the influence of that drug and wants to know where Lex is, Clark is confused and GA shoots him with an arrow in the shoulder. GA asks Clark again and Clark tells GA he doesn't know and GA shoots Clark through the heart.

-GA wakes from the drug to see what he's done and Chloe comes down to see Clark dying. She wants to heal him since she has the power to do that but he says not to do it because Chloe will be hurt in the process. Chloe tries to heal him but she no longer has that power and Clark is about ready to die when the Martian Manhunter shows up and takes Clark into space.

-Clark wakes up in the barn and MM tells him he is healed and has his powers back. MM flew Clark into the sun to heal him. MM promised Jor-El he wouldn't interfere but MM could not let Clark die. Clark thanks him and MM tells him he is now powerless because of what he did to help Clark. Clark decides to sell the farm and take on his destiny in Metropolis. MM is happy about this.

-Chloe accepts Jimmy's proposal of marriage.

-The JL including Clark meet up to discuss what to do next. They decide to lay low and to continue their search for Lex since Clark believes Lex knows his secret.

-The last scene is with Lois and Clark. Clark decides to take the job at the Daily Planet and is sitting across from Lois. Lois smiles.

Well that last scene definitely gave this episode a big boost. The chemistry between Clark and Lois was just plain awesome. The look on Lois' face was priceless and you could tell she is beginning to have feelings for Clark.

It was great to see and hear Clark FINALLY move on. With him moving to Metropolis it finally gets the ball rolling with the Superman mythos. I loved his speech to MM and how he is ready to move on and accept his destiny.

Speaking of MM I was VERY surprised to see him in this episode, although I am not to keen on him losing his powers that easily, I would bet money he hasn't lost him, they are just diminished. It was a great surprise guest appearance.

The JL scene's were great, although I don't agree with how easy it was for Aquaman and the Black Canary to be captured. GA was fantastic in this episode and really showed his leadership skills, the scene with him shooting Clark and then waking up from the drug and seeing what he had done will definitely have him reconsidering being a hero. I especially like the little comment by BC on why Cyborg and The Flash weren't around to help, when in fact they were helping to find Clark albeit on the other side of the world.

There were a lot of positives to this episode but there were quite a few negatives. For instance I think they tried to cram too much into this episode. In fact we never found out what exactly happened in the facility after MM flew Clark out. Instead we get Clark and MM talking about his powers and moving to Metropolis, but we never find out how the JL and Chloe go out of the facility and what happened to the Luthor main goon. Instead we get the Chloe/Jimmy proposal. They could have saved the proposal for te next episode and then extended the facility escape. What's worse is when the JL and Clark meet up towards the end of the show, all three of them are just fine and don't look like they have any residual effects. It was just sloppy writing.

I was ok with the explanation Clark gave about Jor-El taking his powers. It does make sense and I really didn't have a big problem with it although it was mentioned very briefly.

So all in all it was a good episode. It looks like next week we get a new DC character called Plastique.

Odds and Ends: I'm outta here edition

So let's just get this out of the way now:

Yes folks it is a joyful day, today is my last day at my current job. I no longer have to deal with that long drive or the stupid cold calls. It is a happy, happy, joy, joy day.

In fact yesterday turned out to be a great day also, why? Well WOW finally got their heads out of their butts and got our cable, internet, and phone back on. So yes I will be watching Smallville tonight. Why didn't I watch it last night? Well for one I had to work and then the wife had her girlfriend over and they were watching that stupid show Grey's Anatomy. It was cool though I was just glad Smallville got DVR'd and I can watch it tonight.

It looks like it's going to be an awesome weekend. The wife has class on Saturday so I get to spend some time with the kids. We're then heading over to the zoo so my daughter can see Dora the Explorer. So it's going to be a busy Saturday.

I'm definitely sleeping better ever since I moved the bedroom around. It's amazing what a little change will do to your sleeping pattern.

Next week is the big premiere week for all my shows. I'm off on Monday so I'm definitely going to enjoy the Heroes marathon. Plus HIMYM and BBT are back on which means I get to see the lovely Kaley Cuoco:

It's going to be a good week!!

Just a thought, you would think that this being my last day that I would get to pick what I would want for my going away lunch, which would be pizza, but it just doesn't work out that way, I guess I just don't get a say.

Well I guess that's about it for today, I'll post the Smallville recap/thoughts later tonight after I watch the show. Otherwise here are some nice shots of Keely and Lucy:

I definitely like the Superman outfit. Have a good one folks!

Odds and Ends:The Quest for Peace

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone's Thursday is going well. So it's T-Minus one day until I move onto my new job. I have a feeling today is going to be a long day and tomorrow will fly by. Either way it can't come quick enough.

Some of you have asked about my new job and what I will be doing for them. Well it's a manager position in their Golfworks department. I'm pretty sure I will have a staff of three to four. My main responsibilities will be golf club repair, making sure it is QC'd, fittings, and maintaining that department. I'm sure there is a lot more and I am a little nervous even apprehensive about it. I just hope it works out. Plus it is retail and the hours are going to be very different. I'm also a little worried that I may miss some of my daughter's events and I am not going to be happy if I do. However we all have to make sacrifices and this is just another sacrifice I have to make for my family. I think it will all work out, if it doesn't then I'll be looking for another job.

So what else is going on? I guess the biggest news item is the economy and what happened with Wall Street yesterday. I will be the first to admit I am financially ignorant, I don't understand how stocks and bonds work and quite frankly I don't really care. However from what I've read it sounds like things are not going to get any better and it may get worse. That's just wonderful. How much worse can it get? It's just sad to think that we have so many intelligent people in this nation and not one of them can come up with an answer on how to fix the economy. Pretty pathetic.

I am definitely looking forward to Monday. I am going to get to play my first round and probably my last round of golf for the year. I'm pretty sure this is the first year where I've only played once. I'm usually good for about eight rounds a year. This year was different because my son was born and the wife had a difficult pregnancy plus not having any cash doesn't help matters. Anyway I am heading down to play with my Dad at the course he works at, we did this a lot last year and definitely helped us bond. I really do enjoy playing but I enjoy spending time with my Dad. I know I will play like crap but that's ok it'll be nice to get out and have some time with him. Plus he's pretty damn good so it's cool to watch him play.

We still do not have cable, internet, or phone, which means I am doing a lot of this from work. Don't tell. I did call WOW yesterday and I guess they are getting a lot of calls because they aren't allowing any one to access a live rep, which is pretty crappy. So I guess I am going to miss the season premiere of Smallville which makes me a sad panda.

I definitely got some feedback on the pictures of Keely. I think I will add a few here and there of other ladies also, just to spice up the blog. There's nothing wrong with pictures of beautiful ladies just as long as you don't stalk them or touch them. LOL

Well I think that's about it for today, here are a few more pics of Keely and the newest addition Lucy Pinder. Have a good one!

Odds and Ends: Return of the Jedi

So what's going on? I have two more days until I am out of here. It needs to speed up a little, although not being able to work on Monday helped and hurt. It helped to cut the week short but it's going to hurt the old checkbook.

I did some rearranging in the bedroom last night. I told the wife we needed to move the bedroom around to get it ready for the colder weather. It's amazing what you find and how much better you sleep when you rearrange a room. I cleaned our bedroom from top to bottom, moved the bed, TV, and our drawer. There was so much crap everywhere it took me most of the night to get it clean plus our vacuum curse reared it's ugly head so I had to drive over to her Mom's house and pick up here vacuum cleaner. BTW her Mom is the coolest mother-in-law any guy could have, she's always there for us and does what she can to help us out, I'm proud to call her my other Mom. So back to this vacuum curse, yes it is a curse and it won't ever go away. We go through vacuum cleaners at least every 6-12 months. It's freaking scary. We don't even buy the cheap vacuums either, we buy the mid line, but every vacuum we've bought has died on us. Well it happened again last night as I was trying to clean up the vacuum decided to spit out everything I had swept up. So I took it outside and cleaned it out, only for it not pick up anything and if it did it spit it right back out. Pissed me off, it took every ounce of my patience not to throw that damn thing out the window. So now we will have to look for another vacuum. I wish we could afford that Dyson vacuum but those are WAY out of our price range. They look cool though. So anyway I got the bedroom all cleaned up and it looks pretty good. I definitely slept a lot better last night.

What else is going on? It looks like Tobey Maguire has signed on to do Spidey 4 & 5 back to back. He's going to make something like $50 million. I am glad he's back on board with Sam Raimi. I just hope they can find the magic again and make a great Spidey film. I really hope they watch Iron Man and realize that is how you make a Marvel comic come to life on the big screen. It's good news that they are both back though because Tobey is Peter/Spider-Man.

As for DC it looks like Superman is getting re imagined again, which is good news because Superman Returns was horrible. If you go over to www.supermanhomepage.com they have the script that JJ Abrams wrote for his vision of Superman. I read it this morning, keep in mind it's VERY long, and it has some cool ideas although I am NOT ok with the ending. Why does everyone want to change the Superman mythos? He has over 70 years of rich storytelling and someone wants to come along and change it up. Although if you can find it, I definitely recommend trying to Google Kevin Smith's Superman script, it's definitely a must read. Oh and try to find the interview he did about his meeting with the big wigs who wanted to bring his version to the screen, it's pretty funny.

Sorry ladies I needed to add a few pictures for some of the guys who said I was getting a little too girly, I will take care of you ladies in a few days, here you go gentlemen, I give you the lovely Keely Hazel. I think I may have to do this more often. LOL:

WOW is not wow!

Why in the world is it taking WOW cable this long to get my cable, internet, and phone back up? It's now been three days and I'm beginning to get pissed off. I've called them everyday this week and I keep getting the same prompt stating they are working on the issue and do not have an ETA on when the service will be available. All I can say is that it better be back up by tomorrow morning because Smallville premieres tomorrow night and I will be one pissed off customer if I miss the season premiere. Here's what I don't understand, how can Insight (whom I loathe and wish that company burns to the ground) and Time Warner be back to full service in one day and WOW isn't even close to being back on track? Plus I am still being charged for services I am not even using or can use, I need my cable, my internet, and my phone. I have stuff I want to look at, HEH HEH. Although it's been nice having the phone turned off, no creditor calls, WOO HOO. If it isn't back up by this afternoon I think it will be time to raise a little hell. I know it may not do anything but it will be nice just to yell at someone and see if I can get my month free.

Definitely need a new drug.

Grosse Pointe Blank

I just had to add this today. Since we don't have cable, we're digging deep into the DVD's and I watched this gem last night. One of my all time favorite movies.

I definitely recommend checking this movie out.

Later...

Thar She Blows...

Well that was an interesting last couple of days....for those of you who live outside the Midwest we here in Ohio had a nice little visit from the remains of Hurricane Ike. Ike decided on Sunday afternoon to kick up a little wind storm and knock out power to pretty much all of central and southern Ohio. I can honestly say I have never seen or experienced a wind storm like that before; it was brutal. We didn't have any damage at our house but the houses down the street from us had some massive roof damage. We did lose power but were very fortunate to have it back on within a few hours. There are still people without power here in Columbus and it could be the end of the week before it comes back on for them. We still don't have cable, Internet, or phone so hopefully that will kick back on soon because if I have to watch another Max and Ruby DVD, I may have to shoot myself.

For all of you who asked about the baptism, it went very well. The storm hit right after everyone had left so it all worked out. Everyone that was invited showed up and it seemed liked everyone got along. I know my son got overstimulated because he definitely did not sleep well that night, he was passed around like a football all day, but that's ok because a lot of the people who were there have only seen pictures of him. All in all it was a good day.

Well it's been a few days since the disaster in Cali and I really hate to say I told you so but I told you so. Ok here's the thing I don't want to dish any hate on the team because they will have to deal with this loss for the rest of their lives. In fact this loss will define this team for years and years. But I do need to vent and that is the purpose of this blog even with sentence and grammatical errors, right Trevor? Sorry had to take a shot at someone, anyway back to venting and a decision I've come too about this season and possibly next season.

First things first that was absolutely the worst display of OSU football I've seen in a long time. We definitely did not look like a top 5, 10, or even 15 team. In fact we looked more like YSU when we played them earlier this season. There were so many things wrong with that game but the most glaringly was the coaching. I've been watching OSU football for quite some time and I've seen a trend with Tress' coaching and it's this: he doesn't stick with what works. Yeah it's that simple and here's what I mean, anytime we have something working for us and it results in a score he drops it the next series and goes back to his original plan. Look I know defenses adapt and things change but if you have a player who is making a difference and causing a momentum change then why not stick with that player. Tress doesn't do that, we had so much momentum after that field goal that you would think he would alter his game plan but he didn't and it was downhill from there. I'm really beginning to think that Tress is not God and may be another John Cooper.

Yes I know that is harsh but think about every season we've had under Tress, we've only won one NC and that was because of a fluke call. Yes I can admit that and not live in denial about that call. But otherwise think about every season after the NC, we've had all the talent in the world but can never win the big one against any team outside of the Big 10. I mean seriously think about this, we cannot win against an SEC team or a PAC 10 team. I think everybody should share the burden but ultimately it comes down to coaching and Tress may not be that great of a coach.

I wasn't to happy about the comment Tress made about Beanie before the game. He shouldn't have said and I am paraphrasing: Beanie isn't going to ever talk to me again, WTF? Look I know Tress was trying to garner sympathy but don't air your locker room conversations on national TV. As for Beanie, I feel really sorry for him. I know he was looking forward to playing and probably was told everyday leading up to the game that he was playing and then have the carpet yanked out from underneath him, it really sucks to see a great player sidelined like this, I hope when he does come back he will have some fire left in his belly.

I have few comments/questions to say/ask about our defense: Silver Bullets? How about silver blanks? What happened in the span of a year? Was Vernon just that good? I am just very disappointed, almost heartbroken.

As for the offense, go FU** yourselves. No one stepped up except Pryor and he got yanked because Tress had no faith in him. Yep go fu** yourselves.

So after all my venting the decision I've come too is a big one and yes I will be called out on it and frankly I don't care, so here it is. I am done with OSU football this year and next year. I am tried of being disappointed and heartbroken. I will no longer make any mention of them in this blog or have any predictions. I just can no longer watch them and believe we are a great team. I've thought about this for quite some time these last few days and even though I am fan and wish them the best of luck I just cannot sit and watch them any longer. So yes for the rest of the season I will no longer discuss the Bucks.

Alright folks just three more days and I am onto my new job. It cannot come quick enough. Well I hope everyone has a good day and I will talk to you all tomorrow.

Odds and Ends Part Deux

So it's official, Beanie will not be playing tonight, I really do commend Tress for not taking any chances with Beanie's health. It sounds like Beanie was just a little upset with Tress but in the long run Beanie will thank Tress for making this decision.

So where does that leave us? Well even with Beanie we didn't have a chance, so my prediction stays the same, USC 27 OSU 7. I just don't have a good feeling about this game and I think we're going to be in for a long night.

So I was flipping through the channels last night and AMC was showing The Karate Kid Parts 1 and 2 back to back. I caught the ending of The Karate Kid and then watched all of The Karate Kid Part 2. I really don't know what made me want to watch both movies but it was pretty cool to watch Daniel LaRusso kicks some butt.

BTW to those that e-mailed me about my brother and wishing him well in Afghanistan, well the Army decided to push back his deployment to Sept 26th. He wasn't to happy about that, I guess he's ready to go and getting pushed back was something he didn't want. Oh well I look at it this way, at least no one is shooting at you right now. So tentatively he's leaving Sept 26th, thanks again to all that e-mailed me.

Well that's about it for today, I hope everyone has a good Saturday and GO BUCKS!!

Odds and Ends

Good morning folks! I hope everyone is enjoying this Friday morning. BTW T-minus one week until I am on to my new job. I hope next week goes by quickly. So let's take a look at what's going on today and this weekend...

Well it looks like Beanie is now a game time decision for Saturday. I have a sneaky suspicion that Tress is pulling a Bill Belichick, which makes me feel a little uneasy. If that's what Tress is doing then he's playing a dangerous game because USC is ready to play us with or without Beanie. To be honest I want to believe Tress isn't playing mind games and Beanie truly isn't healed and may not play. Either way I am standing by my prediction that USC will win.

Have you ever been driving and you're listening to the radio and each song you're listening too keeps getting better and better after each song. I had that this morning. It was a great trifecta of songs, definitely got me tapping my feet and going a little faster on the highway. I also like it when you can go from station to station and keep the list going. That's always cool to listen to one song on one station and then flip to another station and get another great song and just when you think it couldn't happen again you flip to another station and get another great song. It's pretty cool. Of course the flip side to all of that is getting the bad trifecta and even changing to another station and you still have crap songs. There's nothing worse than scanning through channels and getting crap song after crap song. The worst part is trying to decide on the best crap song and sticking it out in hopes you get a better song which sometimes backfires because you get an even worse song. Wow that's a lot of "song" word usage.

My son's baptism is this Sunday and this means a trip to church. I am not religious, I chose my own path when I was 16 and decided that was what was best for me. My wife is Catholic and when she married me she was very gracious in accepting my stance on religion, however we agreed that we would have our children baptised because that was very important to her, however part of the agreement was that when they were old enough they could decide if they wanted religion in their lives or not. I told her I did not want religion shoved down their throats and that I wanted them to grow up to be free thinkers and know they have a choice. She somewhat agreed, LOL. So this Sunday my little man is getting some water put on him. We're having most of her family up on Sunday. My Dad and his girlfriend will be up also, but my Mom is staying in TN for something a little more important which I will get to in a minute. Anyway I guess it's going to rain and we're going to have it at her Mom's which means 30 people in her Mom's house, which is going to be an interesting day. Anyway it's going to be a long day and I'm sure their will be some drama.

So as I mentioned above my Mom isn't coming up for the baptism and the reason for that is my brother is in the Army and is leaving for Afghanistan today. Let me explain something about my relationship with my brother, we don't get along, never have and probably never will. We are definitely night and day. He's had a rough life and some of it is his fault and some of it was just bad luck. All in all he's a good guy just has some issues that he needs to work out. Anyway he's been in the Army for a few years now and this is his first tour. He's going to be gone for about nine months and he shouldn't have to go to Iraq. So I called him last night and told him to be careful and that we would be thinking of him. It was one of those awkward conversation's where you just don't know what to say but at the same time the other person knows what you want to say and helps you out of the awkward situation. It was a five minute conversation and no we didn't come to some storybook happy ending but I at least let him know that I loved him, that I was proud of him and that he comes back safely. He agreed and that was the conversation. I think we both got across what we needed to say and I think my Mom would be happy with the effort, well she has to be because I haven't got a call from her yelling at me yet. LOL

Alright folks I am going to try and do some actual work today, I may put up another post later today, it's probably going to be a slow day today, either way have a good weekend.

Well that's not good!

Just got an e-mail from a buddy of mine and just read it for myself. Tress just said Beanie is doubtful for the game on Saturday. Tress said Beanie had a lot of soreness in his foot after the morning workout today. Does this mean anything right now? Probably not. The only concern is the flight out to Cali. If it swells or he has a lot of discomfort then it becomes a problem. Plus I am not one to believe Tress is playing a chess game with Pete Carroll and USC. So we will see.

OSU vs USC

Well it's a little over two and half days before this game gets rolling and everybody and their brother has something up about the game. So where should I start?

Let's start with the crazy rumour that has been floating around since Monday. The rumour is that Tress held the offense back in the OU game so USC would not be able to see how we would utilize our offense. In fact one columnist even tries to make it sound like Tress was using plays that were no longer in the playbook. Of course ESPN has their take stating the reason OSU was so flat was because Tress wanted USC to think we weren't ready to play them and have them become overconfident. All I can say is this is all BULLSH**!!! Do these idiots really think that Tress would do something like that??? It not only jeopardizes his job but it makes him look like a Bobby Bowden or Steve Spurrier. From what I know about Tress is that he is a stand up, no nonsense guy who cares about his players and he would NEVER do anything like that to jeopardize his players or OSU. The bottom line is we got outplayed the first half and we got lucky in the second half. We were a flat team that almost got beat by an upstart team. There is no conspiracy theory here, we were looking ahead to USC and almost got tripped up. Plus we fell to #5 in the polls, it's like I said in an earlier post, we now have the difficult challenge of moving back up and quite frankly we may never get to #1 or #2 this year because of how we played against OU.

So how's Beanie? Well according to Tress, Beanie wants to run the ball 45 times on Saturday and Tress told him it would be more like 20. It's also been plastered everywhere today that Beanie is not 100%. Well you idiots that's to be expected no one is ever 100%, but if Beanie told Tress he wants to run the ball 45 times then he must be at least 80%. I think Beanie learned his lesson last year after being challenged by Tress on his manhood, so it doesn't surprise me that Beanie wants to take this team on his shoulders and take care of business.

Well it looks like our secondary will be back to full strength with Washington coming back from his suspension. He will definitely make an impact for defense. As for the rest of our defense I really hope they are ready for this team because USC is that good and they will put some points on the board, so our defense needs to ready.

I really think Tress is going to utilize Pryor a lot more in this game than people think. Tress has something up his sleeve and I think Pryor is the surprise. USC has made it known that they expect something from Pryor so they are covering all their bases. I would be really surprised if Pryor wasn't used in this game. As for Todd, well he showed some steadiness last Saturday but if he thought OU's defense was tough he's in for a long night with USC's defense. He really needs to get in a rhythm and prove himself. If we lost this game because he has a bad night look for Pryor to start getting a lot more snaps this season.

So what do we have going for us? Well we have a few things, the first being this is going to be USC's second game of the year. They had a bye week last week and I'm sure they watched our game against OU and saw how we struggled so hopefully they will be a little overconfident and rusty enough for us to steal a win. The flip side for us is that this is our third game and we have hopefully shook off the cobwebs and will be in better form on Saturday. We also have Beanie back in the lineup so that helps us immensely. Plus our track record against Pac-10 teams is pretty decent which is stellar compared to the SEC.

With all that being said what's my prediction? Well first and foremost I am a Buckeye fan through and through and have been with them through the toughest of times but after watching the OU game last Saturday I saw a team that has had too much praise put on them and they have become too cocky and that's something I can't respect. I don't know if this team learned anything from the OU game. I would hope Tress would have drilled that home this week but honestly I think they are just going through the motions and our back to being a cocky team again. Don't get me wrong there are different levels of cockiness and that does help a team to a point but I think they are too overconfident and they need to be knocked down a peg to learn a lesson. So with that being said it pains me to say this but my final score prediction is USC 27 OSU 7. From what I've seen these last two games we are just not ready for a team like USC. Trust me I don't want us to lose but if we do lose it could turn out to be good thing. It will help them focus and become a better team.

So that's it for today. Man I really hate that I had to predict them to lose but I just don't see us winning. If we do I will be more than glad to eat some humble pie. MMMM pie!!!

9/11

It's hard to believe that seven years ago today we had the worst attack on our great nation. I can remember that day vividly. I got up early that morning to play golf with a buddy of mine. The attacks hadn't even started and I remember turning on the TV and seeing images of President Bush smiling as he was about to visit a school. As I got into the car and started driving towards the golf course I was listening to Howard Stern and it was then when I got my first account of what was happening that day. As I listened to Howard and the rest of his crew explain the events that were unfolding I soon realized this wasn't a joke by Howard and his crew, it soon became obvious that it was much more and Howard Stern went from media giant to humbled reporter. I finally got to the golf course only knowing that one of the towers had been hit. As I walked into the clubhouse to meet my buddy he was with the several other golfers who were glued to the TV and the images that were being shown. We all stood there in amazement and just when we thought it couldn't get any worse the second plane crashed into the other tower and we all knew then that this was something different, that this wasn't an accident, it was an attack. I can still see that plane crashing into the second tower and thinking to myself those poor people they never had a chance. We all stood there for a long time, some called their families, some called their friends, I called my wife and told her I would be home soon. I drove home an hour later, I couldn't tear myself away from the screen. As I drove home I listened to the news reports and it became more and more obvious that we were under attack. I got home and my wife and I stayed glued to the TV all day. I remember thinking back to that image of President Bush smiling as he read to the school kids and then his aide coming in to tell him the news and his face went from enjoyment to pale and gaunt. You can say what you want about President Bush but that day and the days after he was the rock America needed. He really stood up and let it be known we were going to fight back and find who did this, of course times are different now but at that time he really did step up and helped America through the attacks. I know I didn't sleep at all that night. I stayed up and watched everything unfold. I remember the next day a lot of companies and schools closed down. It was an eerie feeling. It was also a heightened sense of terror and the feeling of not knowing what was going to happen next. The next few days were difficult to watch especially for the families who lost someone in the attacks. I know that I will remember that week for the rest of my life. It's just hard to believe that we are now seven years later and how much our country has changed. I know I keep bringing it up but that image of President Bush smiling before going into that classroom says a lot about the country before the attacks. I mean if you think about it, the day before the attacks happened our country was in a good place and just seeing the President smiling like that gave you a sense of America is doing pretty well today, but unfortunately it changed later that day and yes it has gotten better but it will never be the same as it was that morning.

Spider-Man

So I've been a big Spidey fan for quite some time. I've done some collecting here and there, of course when you have a family and a mortgage the collecting kind of goes to the wayside. Either way I still try to stay up on Spidey and every once in awhile a family member will find a little Spider-Man collectible and grab it for me.

I can remember when I was younger trying to get home from school to catch the original Spider-Man cartoon. I also got up extra early Saturday morning to catch Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. That was a great show.

As for the comic I started collecting when I was 8. I didn't have a comic book store since my Mom moved us around a lot, so I had to buy many of my Spidey comics at Kroger in the bargain bags. The bargain bags were like 3-4 comics and you probably got two Spidey comics and one X-Men comic. I finally found a comic store when I turned 10 and was there every Saturday afternoon grabbing my latest issue of Spidey.

I especially was a big fan of the black symbiote suit. I just thought it was really cool. Although Spider-Man 3 kind of ruined the whole idea of the suit, but that's another blog for another day. And I am not going to even get into the recent events of "Brand New Day" that's another blog for another day.

Sorry about the rambling I just wanted to do an entry on Ol' Webhead and put up some nice covers:

Alright folks, have a good morning and I will talk to you later.

ABC Fall Premiere

What's going on folks? Well it's time to move on to ABC. I only have two shows I watch on ABC but they are fantastic shows and one of the shows will probably go down in TV history as the best show ever and that would be the almighty LOST!!!

What can be said that hasn't been said about Lost? It has become one of the most watched shows in TV history. It has a damn good looking cast who can actually act. It has twists, turns, more twists, more turns, and just when you think you have LOST all figured out, it leads you into a whole different direction. This show has such a large following that there are numerous websites dedicated to solving the mystery of this show. My favorite is DarkUFO. There is one writer on that site who I personally think has the show figured out. His moniker is Vozzek69. I highly recommend checking out his synopsis' after each episode, he really does catch a lot that you may miss within the show. I've read all his columns and have gone back and watched the episodes and saw this stuff I missed in the second viewing thanks to his columns. And yes this a show I watch at least twice to make sure I didn't miss anything. The only bad thing about LOST is that it doesn't start until next February but the flip side is that they will show all the episodes and not have any repeats or go away for a hiatus. Now that is awesome. As I said above there isn't much that can be said about LOST that hasn't been said before, please check this show out.

Ok the other show I enjoy is Pushing Daisies.

PD came out last year and fortunately got picked up this season even though it got hit by the writer's strike last year. This is a very interesting show. It involves a man whose name is Ned and he has the ability to bring people back from the dead for one minute by touching them. If he lets them live past that one minute then someone in the vicinity dies and he cannot touch that person he brought back to life or they will die again. Initially Ned uses his power to solve crimes where people were murdered to claim the reward money. His partner, or should I say ring leader Emerson, is a PI who basically "uses" Ned for his power to "help" claim the reward. It's a pretty interesting dynamic between these two and ultimately they both become good friends in a dry friend way. It does all come to a head when Ned finds his long lost love Chuck, who was murdered and decides to let her live. I highly recommend checking out that episode because Emerson's freak out over almost dying is great comedic acting. There are so many little nuances to this show, the fact that Ned can never touch Chuck again because if he does she will die is great storytelling. It is really great how they try to get around this BIG issue. BTW Ned saved his dog also and he can't touch him either which has him bring out an interesting tool to pet his dog. I really do recommend checking out this show. It really is something special.

Well I think that's about it. I'll have Fox up later this week. I hope everyone is having a good day and if you have someone to hug definitely give them a hug today.

Odds and Ends

Just wanted to thank everybody who e-mailed me about my son's surgery. Everything went just fine and he's doing great. Hopefully this will be his last surgery for a LONG, LONG time. It was a long day though. It was one of those days where it seemed like the day was flying by, but then it felt like it would drag. Either way he's good to go.

Well the other news is I am switching jobs. Yep I am going to make a change and I am pretty excited about it. My current department has been in a state of flux these last couple of months and I was at a point where I was basically told by my manager that I should put my resume out there because she wasn't sure what was going to happen. At the same time I've been working a part time job at a certain golf retailer to help make ends meet. Long story short, I had two interviews at the sister store and on Friday they made me an offer that I thought was pretty fair. So on Sunday I called them and accepted the position. I am excited because it is a managerial position and there is plenty of opportunity to move upward in the company. As for my current position, it was a nice ride, it sucks that I have to leave because they have been pretty understanding with my family issues and just all around cool about everything. However I just can't sit around waiting for them to decide if I am going to have a job or not, so I had to make this move and I think it is the best route to go.

So what else is going on? I haven't heard too much on Beanie this week, although it is early in the week. ESPN has their normal crap on the game. I can't even begin to count how many times we will hear about OSU-USC and how USC will roll over us, which is a possibility. I'll have my take later this week.

I really don't follow the NFL much anymore. I used to follow it all the time when I was in a fantasy football league but not much anymore. The reason I bring this up is because I guess Tom Brady is done for the season. Even though I am not a fan of the Patriots it still sucks to see a great player go down with a season ending injury. I also saw Vince Young may be out for a few weeks, which isn't good news for the Titans. However Vince hasn't really looked good this year so maybe this will give him a little insight.

Well I guess that's about it for this morning, I will have the ABC fall premiere up later today. Have a good morning everyone.

Tiger, Tiger Woods, Y'All

And now something completely different! Ok now that I got that out of my system let's move on to a favorite subject of mine and he is Tiger Woods. I've been following Tiger now since his first US Amateur and I got to meet him once at The Memorial. There are not enough words to describe this man. I think I will start off with this video and yes it may be sacrilegious but I don't care because I am not a religious guy so it definitely does not offend me.

Was that not the coolest thing ever? This guy is just freaking awesome! (And yes I know I use freaking and awesome a lot, I may buy a freaking awesome thesaurus some day, until then it's my blog and I will type what I want to type.) And here's another one that's pretty good also.

I just wanted to share those with you today. I will have more on Tiger in a few weeks. I really want to talk about how much I respect and admire him and the impact he's had on my life.

Alright folks there probably won't be any more updates until Tuesday or Wednesday. Everyone take care and have a good Sunday.

WTF??

Ok so what the heck was that all about? If you don't know what I am talking about then just step out your door and take a look at your fellow Buckeye's face and that will tell the story, No we didn't lose but we should have after the way we played. I will give a lot respect and props to Ohio University, they came to play and almost beat us AT HOME. How crazy is that? I didn't see the first half but I kept up with it on espn.com and you could just tell something was not right. I then got home and caught the second half and we looked better but not good enough to beat USC.

The worst part, well there are a lot of worse parts, but the most glaring is the fact that we probably just shot ourselves out of the national title. Yes I said it and I stand by it. Here's why I believe that: the poll voters have been looking for ANY reason to drop us out of the top 5, they don't want OSU to go back to the national championship and this poor performance gave them that opportunity. Yes we will probably fall to #5 or #6 and IF and that's a BIG IF, if we beat USC next week we still won't jump to #1, in fact we probably won't even make it to #3. Plus with our next game after USC being Troy it still doesn't look good. It's crazy to think that ONE game that we won will have this much impact on our season. However we did it to ourselves. I really don't understand what happened. Going into this game we should have been running and gunning. Instead we looked like we were playing an SEC team and we're scared to do anything.

I just can't believe that our three talented running backs aren't that talented. I mean come on they are All-American's in high school and should have run over OU's defense. I am just really amazed that they didn't do better. As for Todd and Pryor well Todd did an OK job, he kept us alive, but he really needs to find his groove especially with the O-Line not helping him much. Because if they don't he's going to be eating a lot of turf next week. As for Pryor, he didn't get much PT because of the situation, but he did look pretty good towards the end of the game even though the game was pretty much over.

Defense, defense, defense. Come on guys two TD's from Ohio University, TWO TD'S. That's just unacceptable. You guys are a lot better than that, next week is going to be tough I hope you guys step it up. You guys still rule all though!!

So what's left? Well not much, I hope Tress is able to get through to the team this week because we are going to be in a world of hurt come next Saturday night. I just don't know if we are going to be able to beat USC. I'll have my prediction and game stuff later this week.

Bucks VS Bobcats

So Tress confirmed this morning that Beanie is sitting out tomorrow's game and I am very happy Tress made that decision. I know Beanie is a competitor and wants to win the Heisman but his health is more important. I personally think if the USC game was this week he still probably would not have played but either way he's out and will be rested for them next week.

So who will step up? Well we have three awesome RB's and I think each one will step up in there own way. I would really like to see Brandon Saine get some considerable amount of playing time but I have a feeling Tress is going to give all three of them equal time. Either way we should have no issue with OU.

Boeckman might be throwing a little more this game and that's a good thing since we need him to get into a good groove. I think Pryor will get to play a lot more on Saturday. In fact if the score is out of reach by the half time I bet he will be running the show in the second half.

As for the defense I just don't have enough room to praise them, we should be looking at another shutout.

So what's my prediction? Well I was off 4 points last week and checking out OU's background I don't see why this won't be another blowout. No Beanie just means other players will step up...so I'm thinking 37-0.

BTW I added some widgets to the right. Let me know what you think. I thought it made the blog look a little more professional.

Well folks have a good one, this will probably be the last post until next week. My son is having outpatient surgery on Monday so I am going to be focused on him and my family this weekend. Otherwise have a good weekend and GO BUCKS!!!

NBC Fall Premiere

Hey folks...time to move onto NBC which holds a lot of my favorite shows.

Let's start with Monday which is becoming the best night on TV. On Monday's we have Heroes and Chuck.

Had to include this Chuck gag reel. Pretty hilarious!

So let's begin with Heroes. After a so-so second season which is partly due to the writer's strike we get the third volume called "Villains". I am really looking forward to this season. I'm pretty sure they are going to have a rebound year and make a run for the best show on TV, well until Lost returns. I've seen some footage of the first episode and it looks great. Hayden, who plays Claire, looks just as beautiful as she did in the first season. I told you I had a thing for blonde's. I hope they really do something with Peter this year. I feel like they are really missing the point with him as a character. Hiro and Ando look to be back together and that is GREAT thing. From what I've read Hiro is going to get his own villain which is going to be awesome. It looks like Sylar is back also and he's going to be making some major waves this season, which is pretty exciting. All in all from what I've read and seen it looks like Heroes is going to be back with a vengeance.

The other show on Monday's that I enjoy is Chuck. It has an awesome cast and it just has this great mixture of comedy, action, and overall goofiness. Yvonne Strahovski who plays Sarah is a goddess. I was smitten with her the moment she made her appearance. Words cannot describe how beautiful she is. Ok sorry back on topic, Chuck is in it's second season and I am glad they are coming back. If you haven't seen this show I highly recommend picking up the first season because you really are missing out on a great show. It's really difficult to give a synopsis of this show since it has so many great plots. I really do recommend checking it out this fall.

Next we have, which I consider the best night on TV, the Thursday night line up of My Name Is Earl, The Office, and 30 Rock. Scrubs has moved to ABC so I'll cover that in a few days.

I love all these shows but if I had to rank them in order it would be The Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock. The Office is just one of those shows I just can't miss. I even watch the reruns on TBS on Tuesday's. I just really enjoy watching every single actor and actress on this show. I think Dwight is possibly one of the top 5 greatest characters in TV history. He's that funny and entertaining. I also rank Michael Scott in that top 5. I mean how can you not want to say "That's what she said" when the opportune moment comes up in a conversation. So many other things I could say about this show, you've got Pam and Jim, you've got Dwight, Angela, and Andy, you've got Kevin who is just awesome, definitely check out the season finale and how the new HR person thinks Kevin is a mentally challenged employee, freaking great.

My Name is Earl and 30 Rock are fantastic shows also. Last season was a pretty interesting season for Earl, he spent most of the season in a coma, and the hilarity ensued. Crab Man is a great character and I hope he gets an episode detailing his suspicious background this season.

30 Rock has it's up's and down's. I really like Tina Fey. She gives off that MILF vibe. Tracy Morgan is off the wall crazy on this show, especially since he is a descendant of Thomas Jefferson, LOL. Alec Baldwin is flat out awesome on this show. Anytime he's on the screen he owns it. I am interested in where they are going to go with his character since he is no longer with NBC. Finally there is Kenneth, the best damn temp and scene stealer on the 30 Rock. I loved the episode where he got addicted to coffee and just became this crazed maniac. If you can find that episode definitely check it out...it's gold Jerry, gold. LOL

Well I think that's pretty much it for NBC. It's going to be a good season I can tell just from the buzz and from what I've read. As for new shows there's nothing I'm really looking forward to from the peacock. So I will stick with my favorites.

Well folks I'll have a probably just one update tomorrow on the Bucks and Bobcats. Otherwise have a good evening and be safe.

Blog Change

Hey folks. Sorry about all the changes today to the blog. I was trying different templates and settled on this one because it gave me more room for the widgets on the right. I'm not to keen on the header though, I want it centered more, so I am playing with the HTML code to see if I can get it to be centered. I'll have the NBC preview up here shortly. It's going to be a long one. That's what she said! LOL.

Preschool-Sad Panda

I am a pretty private guy when it comes to my family. I don't like to give out too much because you just don't know about people these days. But I wanted to talk about my daughter for a minute, well I could talk about her forever, but I'll keep it short. I've said it once and I will say it again nothing compares to being a father. There is no better feeling in the world when your child tells you they love you and gives you a kiss or hug, it really does make your bad day seem like an after thought. My daughter means the entire universe to me, she is the coolest little girl on the planet. Now I will admit there are times where we butt heads and I have to get on her about things but all in all I couldn't ask for a better daughter. Plus she has me wrapped around her finger which I am not afraid to admit. LOL

So anyway, today was her first day at preschool and I've heard other parents tell me that it will be easy when you drop them off, you won't cry, everything will be fine, blah blah blah. I just have to say it was one of the hardest things I had to do. I couldn't even go into her classroom with her, I had to have the wife do it because I was about to breakdown. Yes I do cry at certain things especially when it comes to my family, it doesn't make me any less a man, in fact I think it just enhances my manliness, HA HA. The thing is I can't understand why I was getting so upset about it. She was fine with it. Heck she was in the door before I could even give her a kiss. That's my girl though, Ms. Social Butterfly. She was giving the teacher a hug, other kids hugs, and there I was wanting my hug. LOL. I was able to get my kiss good bye and she told me she loved me lots and lots, which pretty much did me in. After she went in the door, the wife went in after her and gave the teacher the stuff for the class and then it was the long walk back to the car. If you have kids then you know that feeling, the feeling of dread but the feeling of excitement for your child because they are beginning their journey in learning new and exciting things. So yeah I had a few tears on the way to work, but they weren't all sad some were happy tears. Anyway I just wanted to share that with you all and if you do have kids give them a hug and a kiss today, even if they don't want it, they will appreciate it later in life.

Ok enough with the emotional stuff. I will try to get the NBC fall preview up later today or tonight. Have a good one folks!

CBS Preview

Ok as promised here are the shows I am really looking forward too this fall season. I'll start with CBS today, NBC tomorrow, and hopefully FOX and CW this weekend.

Let's start with probably one of the most underrated comedies on Monday nights and that is the Big Bang Theory.

First off Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, is just downright hotter than hades. The girl is gorgeous. Plus she can act and she plays Penny so well. Ok moving on, the show is a great little show. It involves two friends, Leonard and Sheldon, who happen to be very intelligent, maybe too intelligent, which causes them to lack some social skills. The bottom line is that they are geeks and are proud of it. Leonard and Sheldon also have two good friends who are just as geeky as they are-Howard and Rajesh. It took me a few episodes to really get into this show, I was mainly watching it because of Kaley but I quickly began to appreciate the geek bond these guys had and being a closet geek myself I could relate to some of their issues with comics, collectibles, and movies.

Leonard and Sheldon are just fantastic and Sheldon is quite possibly one of the best TV characters on TV right now. Great, great show. Definitely check it out.

The next show I am really looking forward too is How I Met Your Mother.

Any show that has NPH on it is worth watching a hundred million times. Oh you don't know who NPH is?!?!?! He is the...wait for it.............LEGENDARY NEIL PATRICK HARRIS!!! Yes Doogie is on this show and he is FREAKING awesome. All I can say is this is one show I at least watch twice. It has so many great moments that you have to watch it twice to really appreciate the show. So what's it about? Well the title of the show is basically all you need to know, it follows Ted as he explains to his kids 30 years into the future how he met their mother 30 years ago, trust me it's not that complicated it just sounds like it. It also involves Lily and Marshall who are Ted's friends along with Robin and Barney who is played by NPH. There are so many great one liners in this show that they have become ingrained in pop culture. Every actor and actress on this show is great, they even had Sarah Chalke, who plays Elliot on Scrubs and is just delicious, show up last season as the potential mother of Ted's kids. Also any show that can make Britney Spears look normal and hot again is a great show. I highly recommend checking it out.

Finally there's the Amazing Race and Survivor. I personally favor The Amazing Race over Survivor since Survivor falls into my Thursday knockout night, which means I really don't get to follow it like I would want too, DVR works overtime on Thursday's. I've only seen a few promo's for each show and they look pretty good. The Amazing Race is just a good all around reality show.

As for any new shows on CBS? I am intrigued by The Mentalist but I need to see how that falls in my DVR list. If it's open that night I might give it a try.

Well I think that pretty much covers CBS. Yes I know I left out Two and Half Men and personally I really liked the show a few years ago but now it just gets on my nerves.

Alrighty then I think that's about it. As you can see Homer decided to add a widget to the right so he could bless us with his comments and other Simpson comments. Please enjoy. Have a good one. Talk to you tomorrow.

Smallville Update-Is there hope?

So I was doing my morning surfing and I came across this quote at Superman Homepage:

"So as most of you know, I'm writing an episode of Smallville this year. I've already begun working with the Smallville executive producers and head writers - Todd, Darren, Kelly and Brian - and some of the staff - Bryan, Turi, Al and Caroline. They all rock. They've been super nice, super genuine people and they've welcomed me into their clubhouse with open arms. Working on Smallville has been some of the most fun I've ever had in my career.

I can tell you with confidence, the season they have planned is easily the most ambitious to date. There are so many twists and turns. And episode 10. Episode 10 is INSANE. My episode is now 11, so it's going to be a hard act to follow, but I'll give it my all. I have to say too, that if they pull off where they're taking Doomsday...I mean, I didn't understand where they were going when they announced that Doomsday had a human alter ego. But it's freaking cool. As hell. And fans of the comics are going to be blown away when everything is actually revealed. It's really pretty spectacular.

Also, the Legion? They are absolutely, 100% on point with the Legionnaires and their relationship with Clark Kent. I can say you'll see an appearance by one of the Legion's better known enemies, but I can't reveal who just yet. More information to come when I can talk about it."

This quote is from Geoff Johns. Now if you are not familiar with Mr. Johns then you are really missing out on one of the greatest comic book writers of our generation. I seriously recommend picking up any title DC solicits with the name Johns on it. Even if you've never picked up a comic book before go out to your local comic book store, mine's The Laughing Ogre, and ask for a Geoff Johns title, you will not be disappointed.

Anywhoo back to the quote, if you read my entry about Smallville last week you knew that I had some apprehensive feelings about Season 8, the biggest being Doomsday and how they were going to handle him and the human host. Well this quote from Mr. Johns really does help settle my fears, if he says it's going to be "freaking cool" then I am willing to let go of my apprehensive feelings and trust Mr. Johns. I also had read that he was writing an episode this season and that it was going to be about the Legion coming to Smallville, which is a huge part of the Superman mythos. This episode could be just as huge as the Justice League episode.

I am also very curious about his comments on episode 10, that it will be "INSANE" and that his episode follows that "INSANE" episode. All I can say is if he is that pumped about that stretch of episodes then I am really pumped.

Well that's about it for this morning, I've got some personal stuff to take care of this morning. As always I'll let Homer take us out: "When will I learn? The answer to life's problems aren't at the bottom of a bottle, they're on TV!"

Right on Homer!

Odds and Ends

Just some random stuff-

Just saw that USC leapfrogged Georgia and OSU to become the new #1 team in the land. I'm not surprised. Although can't understand why we fell to #3 and Georgia is #2. I would have thought a shutout over YSU would have looked better than a Georgia Southern team scoring 2 TD's against the vaulted Georgia defense. Just doesn't add up.

Congrats to Tiger and his wife who are having another child. There is nothing better than being a Dad. Speaking of Tiger, I will have an entry on him in a few days.

I am getting stoked for the upcoming fall season, in the next few days I will have my thoughts on some of my favorite shows that are returning.

Definitely check out some of my links to the right, there's a little bit for everybody.

Finally a word from Homer: I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

I couldn't agree more.

Wow! The world must be coming to an end...

So I am doing my normal web surfing and I come across this article...

http://music-news.com/ShowNews.asp?H=Jackson-dating-Pamela-Anderson&nItemID=20942

Between them both they probably have enough plastic to start their own toy factory.

Homer, do you have any comments?

??????

Yeah it's probably best if you didn't say anything.
